I don't know about the 7D and 70D, Ryda, but I am really liking my Sony A7R with Metabones Adaptor to EF. With manual focus lenses, it is stunning (less so if you have a hankering for sports photography).

The urgency to upgrade has now gone, I was getting 4 random spots on my pictures, so I took my camera in for a clean and they told me it wasn't worth it, mucking around I stumble across the cleaning setting and gently used some compress air, spots have no gone :)

but may still look at upgrading from my 1100 in the near future :paranoid:

Thanks Rob

the above looks rather cold :paranoid: but also cool

We're heading to Oz on Wednesday, spending a night in Melbourne then 6 nights in Forrest, which is in the middle of the Otways, about 40km inland from where you took this Marengo dawn
I guess I might have to get up early a couple of times.. I also plan to head down to the 12 apostles

Cool! Theres heaps of great coastline there, just be careful if you get to Marengo by the holiday park, the rock is like ice so slippery!

After that morning the weather crapped itself, shots of apostles etc all look garbage. dull flat grey boring crap. have to go back for another go, but not as a family holiday

RJD / Ryda - You are talking about my back yard! We moved to Melbourne in 2008 and regularly holiday at the Marengo Holiday Park! Such a beautiful part of the country. Rough and cold in the winter, blue and glorious in the summer. The Apostles are fantastic in good weather, but get there early as it gets very packed with tourists.

Ryda, on your way down the coast, make sure you stop in Lorne and go to a cafe called The Bottle of Milk - gourmet burgers to die for and the best chips evarrr.

I was dissapointed with the composition possibilities at the 12 apostles. theres like 2 views and thats it, better to climb down those steps and shoot the other 2 stacks IMO

I didnt because the weather was horrid

So true. Usually when I see people's pics of the Apostles it's always the same angles. The only thing that changes is the height of the tide and the location of the sun!
