We went to Nelson for a few days and I took lots of photos trying out our new ND4 and polarising filters. However, most of my shots aren't what I hoped for. My favourite shots are the ones my husband took. :(

After our race next weekend when I have a bit more time I might ask for advice about a couple of them.

Here are a couple of mine in the meantime.

This is the stream below the waterfall near Ohau Point lookout on the Kaikoura Coast.

As I was walking back to the car from said waterfall I was attracted by the simplicity of this composition of road signs

The stream below the waterfall in Lewis Pass. I would have liked to spend more time here but it was already 4.30 pm (we'd left Nelson at 9.45) and I wanted to get home (Christchurch) before midnight!

That garden looks similar to the Hamilton gardens. They are amazing! Gutted I didn't have my camera when went there.

I have also recently been to the coast.

Oh how I want a really expensive, decent camera, instead of a point and shoot!

Oh how I want places to shoot like you do!

*Nice* photos! And when I say "*Nice*", I mean superlatively awesome! :)

 Thanks

They almost make the 78 sandfly bites that I got while taking them worth it

Wow, you counted them all? For some strange (though good reason) sandflies don't like my blood. Which is good for when doing water shots in unsunned valleys, etc. Or swamps :p

Had a quick play with using a second lens backwards to make a ghetto macro lens today, it actually works quite well! I just need to play with it a bit more to get a bigger depth of field, then see if I can change the plane of focus like a Tilt and Shift lens.
