Awesome pics. I think I have been playing GTAIV too much, as now I think of it as Liberty City landmarks. Statue of Happiness, Broker Bridge etc.

In person the resemblance is even more striking. Harlem looks just like the Liberty City version. :D

Wow. I like!

What I dont get though is how you get colour so right. Like on the "suicide" pic, the colour isn't washy, and neither is it too dark, but the contrast between colours is so crisp ... So hard to explain. What editing did you do to "suicide" and "Ferns"?

Maybe that will help me! :)

Thanks! Very little actually, tweak the contrast and bumped the saturation - but VERY little... it was not much different than the original photo. Much of it I blame on my good lenses :)

So big expensive lenses = cool colour in photos?

Got any I can borrow? :)

Sure, come pick one up and we'll go shooting hahaha. I also find using the manual settings produce much nicer results... I also just use the canon editing software that came with my 40d, its quick and easy :)

Manual definately, Changing your exposures and apertures etc. Use of Flash. Even with average lenses you can still get really nice Colours.

*sigh*

I quite like the "A-depth" setting. Works for me.

And yeah, I should really use the Manual setting. So much adjusting for every shot though! :(

Depending on what youre shooting too - often I just adjust ISO and shutter speed and let the f-stop figure itself out...

How do you work out what ISO speed to use? Big for dark, and small for light? Find a balance with the shutter speed?
