Runs AutoCAD 2016 ok too. Just had to download a couple of drivers and it's sweet. Only prob was connecting to existing homegroup, just had to delete old one and create new one with win 10 and join the other laptop to that.

Did you pay for win10 or get it some other way?

So clean fresh install on an ssd now, so much faster now I'm super stoked.

So random question. I used to run raid 1 on a pair of drives, they are not going to be used separately for storage. How the shit do I wipe them both properly :eh: windows wont let me run both of them at the same time and insists they are the same drive etc but even with one in at a time I cant use disk manager to totally nuke the contents of the drive. I'm assuming there is some residual raid stuff partitioned off somewhere that is making it mad.

the new build that came out last week now supports upgrade activation using a win7/win8 key whilst doing a clean install - so it's no longer necessary to upgrade from win7, let it activate then do a clean install. Saves a lot of time - does mean downloading another 6gb using the media creation tool though

Too difficult, any easier option? Got stuff like Office 16 through old workplace HUP which I wouldn't be able to reauthorise without email address and Acrobat Pro hooked to an account I no longer have access to too......

*correction - in light of recent posts I'd like to clarify that I do not pretend to know more than Wobbler, I just CBF with a clean install.

Unless of course it doesn't mean delete everything and start again, then I'm just mistaken.

Dont have the HUP codes in a personal email somewhere, it prompts you pretty hardout to email them? You might be able to pop them out

You are not supposed to be using the hup bizzo if you've left anyway so might as well high seas that shit

DM'd ya fella. BUT the big question would be, what are you using Acrobat Pro for? Do you need the PDF creation tools, and more, or just to deal with reading PDFs? The other bits are easy to solve, and the Pro could be too.

my HUP 2016 installer has the key embedded in the installer (and as part of the filename as well) - never even asks for the key, and as we found last week when we rolled a co-workers personal laptop back from win10 to win7 it seems the activation system is clever enough to be happy re-activating on the same machine

I did a new HUP 2016 about 2 hours before my post yesterday and it gave me a key. So um, yeeeeeeeeeeeah

Ha! Yeah, Tablet mode, cos you wanted to have Windows 8.1 still, really.....honest.....

Hate that setting myself, but love the multiple desktops too!

dreddge....

I've just said 'yes' to the upgrade from 7 to 10, cos it's telling me the offer runs out on 29 July. Do i REALLY want to move to 10? My son's laptop has it and i hate it. I'm used to 7. We're on 7 at work. Should I bother? I've told it it can do it on Friday, so I still have time to pull out.

I'm on an old (maybe nearly 10 year old) Dell Inspiron, is it just gonna fuck it???

7 is likely to stay supported for at least until I get a new laptop, right?

Pros and cons please?

Also, I wouldn't know where to begin with a clean install.
