If you want to play a game that will fuck you off to the very end of yer tether, try and obtain "Knights of the Round" in FF7. But when you unleash the bastard for the first time and see 9999 9999 999 9999 9999 9999 9999 flash up on your screen, you may just squeal a little.

And yes, Ruby weapon is a cunzor.

The latter.

There are shit loads of sidequests in ff7. Try beating ruby and emerald weapon, that's a challenge if there ever was one.

TBH, I haven't played FF7 since '98 when I beat it. Including the 'weapons'. From memory there was 3, and it took a fair amount of doing the right stuff to unlock the required Materia, and I had a guide

I've played most of the Final Fantasy 7 franchise having enjoyed the storyline in it. If you need more information obout the story lines etc wikipedia will have it. As far as the other final fantasy games go I never got into many of them because the story lines really didn't grab me or because they were such time vampires i didn't really get into them. However I did end up really getting into the Kingdom Hearts games. The Kingdom hearts games were far more enjoyable in that it wasnt turn based when you had conflicts it was more of a moving around while scrolling through various attacks and unleashing them. I have to say this appealed far more because it was much quicker paced. ( think GTA but with more magic and a slightly more complex battle system) to me because the game allowed me to do whatever I want so long as I had unlocked the level. This was great but the story line would still force you in the same direction so even though they try to make it non linear it is still a very linea story line. However once you unlocked most of the worlds you still had a lot of content to unlock. I spent 10 hrs+ in KH 2 just trying to unlock one weapon. There are also a few side quests like fighting sephiroth. That said these games wont such up as much time as FF but I enjoyed the storylines way more.

Final Fantasy XII = Star Wars + Lord of the Rings + Pokemon

I like the way you can play it in a near vegetable state and not die all the time :)
