Where Do People Buy Their Movies And Stuff From?

I've finally stopped living in denial and started looking at services which let you download movies and music content....

....legitimately.

I'm interested in services that aren't iTunes-based, this is not because of my hate of all things with a small i in font of them but rather the fact iTunes runs like pooze on my PC and my understanding there's a bit of DRM to work around.

I'm quite keen to use the content I download on all sorts of devices like my PS3, laptop, tablet, etc. Subscription services like netflix don't work as I want to take things on the road with me.

Has anyone found anything good? I've been looking at Amazon and whatnot but wondering what else is out there.

With an impending trip to the Pacific Northwest, I searched YouTube for the movie "Singles". Turns out I can rent OR download it, for a price, from teh YouTubez. Dunno how many movies they've got in their catalogue though...

Do you do teh netflix Scotty? I know it's not downloading, but it is paying (albeit a relative pittence). I have been transitioning to a similar thought pattern re: paying for things (in that I have a bit of money now)... but I still don't have an issue cheating about my IP address location. :blush:
