I managed to fit in one of those I wasn't expecting to ride today rides

Only hit the Wainui Hill, Spoonhill, Jungles and back down Wainui Hill, but my legs didn't hurt one bit after yesterdays 150km road rd which included Monnshine, Paekak & Akatawa hills

I wish I was up there again this weekend...

New Forks are MINT!!, need to put a little bit more air in the bottom out chamber for the DH track, but otherwise, light, stiff and plush

I went for a cruise along the foreshore and then up the Huitoki where I found an awesome loop of singletrack amongst native bush. Got back into town to discover my rear Q/R had given up the ghost and I had to walk back to the car (marked yellow)

shuttling all morning in vegas, with Xcmtb,then more shuttling in the afternoon, met up with Pbr, Musket, and a few other vorbers.
jump track, Taniwha, and 2 runs out to Billy T & split enz
Only downside was a spectacular over the bars on taniwha
and a broken gear cable coming down split enz.

I was hoping it would be a little bit harder, but the wind up to Wainui just about killed me anyway. My speedo told me 82Km, but in reality, it was easier than a lap of Karapoti.

You can go up to the lighthouse and then head down to the first lake. Just before the lake there is a turnoff that lets you go round the lake and then over the hill between the lakes (it even has a nice bit of single track and a board walk) would add maybe 5-10km and a few < 100m hills to the trip.

It's really frustrating to go ride down a bit of track you crashed on badly enough to keep you off the bike for >a month, and think how the fuck did I crash there, that piece of track is so easy, I'm such a manus.





Mt Vic is nice today. Very dry. Not too many tards walking all over it. Guess they're off at the 7's. Lulz at the new ski-jump thing just down from the summit

Grouse ride with Bugle and Mr X - up Salvation, down Deliverance, up Koru-Snakecharmer to the summit, then down T3, Varleys and Wahine. Very cool indeed...

Shuttle runs today, on the Turner today for a change

jump track, then Billy T, G-rock, out to Bike Vegas for a new Front wheel for ursavage who I was riding with. Within 1 1/2 hours of tacoing said wheel up on G-rock, we were back on the shuttle.
