Where Did You Ride Today?

It wasn't actually today, but last night I had a short but wicked evening ride with my buddy Al. We did Sifty, up Houghton Valley Road to the top of Mt Albert, past the baboons (didn't see a Happy one?) to Karitane where Al spectacularly sessioned some jumps while I tried and failed to take some pics, then blasted down the road scattering walkers left and right :crazy:

, then back up Mt Albert via the trails behind the basketball courts to the summit and a blast back down Buckley Road to base.

A good start to the ride was followed by a nightmare middle section (fatigue from 2 sleepless nights causing major muppetry and narrow escapes) then I seemed to come right for the rest...lots of laughs and some awesome shralving!

Blsated up koru sally alley and teh snake charmer to Makara summit, Bumped into Oli and Al, we trundled and pushed T3, joined the work party briefly and Oli and I built a tank trap and wached the crew build a teeter totter of death, then vertigo ( which is a bit gnarly at the mo, choice au!) Swigg (bermtastically fast today) then starfish and homeward...

Nice wee blast...

Kaiwara Klassic today, great weather, great ride, great lunch afterwards as usual. Hell windy, probably helped to improve my time from last year with the tail wind at the start. Certainly made it bloody entertaining across the top, nothing like having your bike slide a few feet sideways or doing a spontaneous right turn straight into a bank in a gust of wind :crazy:

Rode the N-duro Summer series 45km race today. Then afterwards went and rode 2 laps of the 25km race course. So all up a bit over 90kms offroad for the day

Actually on Saturday, not today. Took a bunch of newbies (or at least folks who hadn't sat on a bike for a very very long time) and did the Coastal Track/Inland Track loop out in QEII park, Paekakariki, Kapiti Coast. Fun track. Finished up (minus the bike!) in the surf cooling off followed by a Beach BBQ. Perfect day really. Oh and I suck in sand.

Just been for a short ride at Makara Peak: Koru, SA, Ridgeline Extn, SWIGG & Starfish. Was meant to be a sifty ride, the first after a torrid 8 hours on Saturday. But, I bumped into Kah, Richard from Active Kiwi, and Matt the Chocolate Frog barrista (who'd just done a scorching 25 minute tip track - a PB - on the way over), and ended up following them up Koru... Somewhere near the beginning of Sally Alley I started to lose focus, and had to drop back a bit! Still, was bloody nice to get out, and NO WALKING!!!!! When I get round to writing about the Akatarawa Attack that comment will make more sense...

Had the afternoon off work so headed for the hills.

Goldmine - Denton park - Tip track - Redrocks - Mt Albert - Mt Vic. Nice day to be out in the sun. Sometimes I wish I was unemployed.
