:pmob: Blood from elbow to glove - noice. I usually say that it aint a crash unless the blood reaches your socks, but that looks ouchy enough to count.

Hope there wasnt too much pain involved :(

Took the single speed down to Pencarrow. Was an interesting and challenging ride. Shows not every ride has to contain single track, hills or bush. 44-14 ratio in to a strong Wellington northerly is good exercise.

The grader was just one of the distractions. It had managed to get itself stuck over the side of new Hutt river flood bank. Took him 5 minutes of twisting and turning but he managed to get himself back up without assistance.

Don't know how many more years the boat on the south coast has got left in it, it's rusting away pretty quickly now.

However, it's back to the bush clad hills tomorrow morning on a bike with gears...

Makara tonight, solo mish, and decided to up my tempo alot. I'm fit, so why not?

My usual cruise was a bit gut busting, and while I wasn't breaking anyone elses records, I was pegging it pretty quick for me.

Koru - ten minutes
Sally - ten minutes
Missing - ten minutes
Aratihi - eight minutes.

After that I kinda lost interest in the ten minute markers, but went on to do Upper leaping, the new joining track is smart. Then Nikau (a little jungle like, but heaps of fun still!!) and the climb out without dabbing, first time ever. Nice.

Then missing, 4wd to RLE, and then Magic and out via Live Wires. As I say, won't be the fastest, but was uhber awesome for me. 1hr 18min. I was a tad chuffed. One of those rides where everything went well and flowed nicely!!

Excellent way to cap the day!

Not riding today, but just back from great week of riding! Took the BOB trailers (thanks Owen) over to Picton on the 29th, and rode from there to Hanmer via the Molesworth. Middle day from Isis Creek (much nicer than the Hodder River campsite) to the Molesworth cob cottage was super hot and hillier than expected; good workout with the trailers on!

Next was a few days in Hanmer. Rode a few of the local trails, all in great condition. Tagged onto a New Years Day ride up Jollies pass and down 'Addiction', which is a little tricky to find but a super trail. Did that one again the following day!! Also managed to fit in the Wharfedale after the southerly, rooty slippery goodness.

Then we packed up and rode back up the Rainbow, knocking out 130km on day 2 to get from Lake Sedgemere back to Renwick, leaving an easy peddle yesterday to Picton.

Plenty of others out doing similar stuff, and now feel a bit fit again. Wife did the lot on no riding!! Rode herself into the ground on the last day  Ooops, but all good. Recommended as a great week off.

Last night, good spin round bottle lake on the singlespeed, half way through, consumed some tasty beverages, making the ride back all the more enjoyable...

On Sunday tho, got dropped on Pettigrews Rd, and rode the twinfences. Sprained/strained my ankle 20 minutes in, grinned and bared it for the rest of the ride. From Port Levy Saddle, ignored the no bikes sign (muchly disappointed with DOC for putting that there, i mean, wtf!? its mostly paper road anyway!?) and schlepped up the back of Herbert then fanged it down to Diamond Harbour, missing the 6.10pm ferry by 5 minutes! coupla tasty beverages and some fries at Godley House later and i's on the next ferry. mint day for it. mint views. mint trails (cept for the walking bits...tho, really, they werent that bad, well, maybe except for that bit from Kaituna up to Herbert's subpeak (913m), tho, even that only took like 15 mins or something).

Last nite, back on Whites Bay Loop..

Weather "hot as..."
drove up to top carpark..push to top, seemed easy which was good...chucked on gear yahooo on the descent..

ride not so good for me..was running to much air in tyres and had to stop and let some out.

WARNING!!! first part of PYLON TRACK where it comes back on to the fire road has been graded away...Transpower have had the road graded, so there is no transition..

rest of Pylon is good :)
