I went for my first training ride for the upcoming race season up on the Eastern Hutt hills at 7:30am this morning, my legs hurt now, but I was pretty happy about how things went despite still not clearing Summit Rd

Attached is a shot of what I think is one of the nicest pieces of 4wd track in the Wellington Region :)

When do rides stop being "rides" and start being "training rides"? :eh:

I went for a ride today with wgtngrl and faux_name and got shown a whole lot of new tracks I've never ridden! Up Salvation, across and down to Scout Hall, then Goldmine, back up on the road to the start of of the Rollercoaster, around the Rollercoaster/sanctuary fenceline, then down Deliverence :)

Legs were pretty dead from yesterday's road race, but still had heaps of fun

When you push yourself hard up the hills and then ride leisurely back down to recover for the next ride up

Hey, you were saying that Scotty thought you wouldn't get down Swigg in the wet the other day ... but you can ride deliverance? I've never tried deliverance ... maybe its time...

Did the 1st Whangarei Winter Series race today. It was good fun, very pedally and more than just a little muddy...

I never said I rode Deliverence (although I suppose it's implied that I did) I walked a fair bit of it to be honest - a bit too wet and rooty and slippery for my liking

I'll wait till summer and try it again on my Heckler

I did that one yesterday. But with Carparts instead of Deliverance and Salvation.

Today was muddy Akatarawa jungle goodness.

(and those that never sent me a PM when I mentioned Deadstag, I was serious about there being no thread for this ride. :( )

yesterday I got out to wrights hill for some deliverance action ( ) before heading up koru/salley alley then the 4wd to the top. Ridgeline down, then RLE and Swigg to finish. Nice wee ride.

Today I headed out to Mt Vic - first a coupl eof runs down the ridgeline, then headed down damiens (sp?) which was massively fun/sketchy. Stopped and sessioned a few sections for a laugh too, which was noice.

Managed to burp all the air out of my front tyre as I dropped onto the 4wd track at the bottom, so walked to the nearest service station - my hand pump wasn't much use
