It's been a while since I did this, nice to see that people have done so much riding on the sheep trails next to the 4wd track most of the way round, that its turning into some quite neat singletrack. :D

Unfortunately, I discovered that due to a combination of bad weather, pies and birdflu, the last month has turned me into a cream puff, and I am weak like a kitten from teh ORLY thread.

took the afternoon off work and went for a great little ride at the new trails that the manawatu MTB Club are developing in a forest near Palmy, which is proving to be a great winter spot rather than the mud and slop of K-loop

Got up this morning for a ride around Bethunes Gully.

Man I'm bike unfit. Argh.

So good to be out for a ride again though. I've been only twice in about the last 2 months.

Nice day in Dunedin here though, overcast but 14 degrees. Trails were pretty dry after all the days without frost as well

Went up Makara, the up tracks were reasonably dry and the downs were a bit greasy, so I had a little lie down in the middle of swigg  great to get out there, and man am I unfit :(

Today just wasn't my day to ride. :(

I had the best intentions, but when I opened the garage this morning, I discovered that I had a puncture to fix, as well as the two spokes that broke on me yesterday.

After getting that fixed, I spent about an hour looking for my riding gear, only to come to the conclusion that wifey must have left it in the drier, which had been loaded into a moving truck yesterday morning.

So I swallowed my pride and dug out an old t shirt and shorts, and finally set off on the bike.

I admitted defeat when the non-drive side crank fell off half way to the trails.

Somtimes, it just wasn't meant to be. :(

Rode out to wainui for a bit of digging.

After that rode up korokoro stream along to danzig then up to belmont trig. From there headed down bakebeans (which was bloody slippery) then out korokoro and back home.

So not the most exciting ride with way to many road miles for my liking but still good to get out somewhere different.

I rode here. and beyond!

I found many interesting items, but the highlight would have to be the giant nipple clamp.
