What's A Good Video Game For A Netbook?

Postby Tama on Tue 14/Jul/09 11:11am

I'm going to be on the road a bit over the new few months and was thinking it'd be a good idea to put a video game on my lappy I can play if I find myself stuck somewhere.

However my laptop is a "netbook" with a 1024 x 568 screen, a low powered CPU/ graphics adaptor and running Windows XP. It also has a smaller keyboard and a touchpad so anything which requires good hardware or lightening controls is going to suck.

I was thinking about strategy/ RPG games but I haven't paid any attention to PC gaming in years so have no idea what's out there.

Recommendations anyone?

I can highly recommend Fallout Tactics. Great old lasting game that will run sweet on your book.

Even better comes with the other 2 Fallout games for dirt cheap!!!

Dont leave home without it

"World of Goo". You make wobbly structures out of goo balls, and then other goo balls climb along the structures to reach the end sucker pipe. Think Lemmings, but with spooge.

If you are after a platformer I've heard braid is quite good, a couple of people are running it fine on those EeePC's with the new patches

I was wondering this myself. But thinking along the lines of Risk, Civ, Simcity or similar.

I had fun just recently trying to install VPN on my netbook. It was on CD so I thought I'd just use the work external drive. Turns out the software required to run the external drive is on a CD  WTF?
