I'll ask the question of Transpower. The open area at the top of SDP will be closed for 2-3 months non stop but on the days Polhill Reserve is open, surely you can go up tranny and down SDP...

Transpower have come back and said Lower Tranny-SDP laps will be possible on days where the line is not being pulled.

Tranny between SDP - Karpea St junction will be closed 1 February – 10 April so SDP loops are the only option there :)

Nice one, thanks Gristle - someone local had to have the word.

All good. Wanted to clarify that for myself as well :)

The whole reserve will be closed on days they are pulling wires, the dates should be on the big signs that have gone up everywhere.

So, a few days in, anyone tried a Serendipity lap?
Any big fences etc block the way?

And is 'spud' accessible? I know it won't be on the Polhill closures, but do they have a flock of trucks around the top pylon blocking it?

I'm trying to put together a working loop for my night sanity rides...
Clinical - fling - sawmill - spud - new track - push up pink tohunga - transient - fling - clinical (or whatever the steeper version is called, dopers?)
Any obvious errors in judgement?

Now that we're in the first 'whole polhill closed' part of the plan, it looks like Serendipity laps are still an option.
The main work fence is above the transient/Serendipity link, and there's nothing at the bottom of Transient...
Anyone had a try since Tuesday?
