You mean the gravel one? If you go up there and take a right at the base of the steep bit, you'll find the track. It follows the stream up for a while before a switchback.

Is there much more work planned on the pre-4WD section? I went up last Wednesday and couldn't find either pixies or tools, have they all been moved up to the next part?

The last 30 metres or so is ridable but it needs to be widened and tree limbs cut. The tools are up the track about 20 metres from where they were, on a corner.

A good dig day, thanks to Andy, Andrew, Owen, Jono and Ian. Top of the track finished, tools moved and work has commenced on track south of 4wd track. This just leaves the blackberries at the start of the track at the bottom to sort out.

I was hoping for some blackberry action. Just sharpened my machettes :D

I will be down in the park at midday, havent heard from Kevin, but if the blackberries are the only thing not finished on this part of the track then I say lets do some slashing.

yep, sounds good, I'll drop a load of tools off with the wheelbarrow by car before hand. It would be good to gravel the section once finished. I will be a bit late. If I don't turn up at all, then I'll be really late. :) If so someone may have to take the tools and wheelbarrow back. Pineapple lumps

I will have the van so I can take the tools back, although i do not know where you are storing them now so you had better make it.

This track, currently called Transient, has been added to http://www.tracks.org.nz.

And here's an elevation profile of the track so far:

It might also be interesting to check out the other nearby new track, Highbury Fling, which connects George Denton Park with Ashton Fitchett Drive.
