The "James" Macpac Mountainman is basically a full-on off road multisport event of Ironman proportions: Swim 2km or kayak 10km, MTB 100km & finishing with a 50km cross country run all in the Southern Alps high country of St James Station and you'll only have about 16 hours of daylight to get it done

The 24th Jan 2015 see's another step in the development of The Mountainman as "one hell of a day out" The C2C might be "The longest day" but as current (outright) champion and previous C2C winner Fleur Pawsey will tell you, the James Macpac Mountainman will sure as hell be your hardest day!!! A day which starts at 6am with either a 2km swim in Lake Tennyson or a 10km kayak double circumnavigation of the lake followed by a 100km MTB stage (the full Ground Effect "James" Epic course), and finishing with a 50 km cross country run (3 loops of the Alpine Adventure run stage)!
Make no mistake - The James Macpac Mountainman is to Ironman what Xterra is to Triathlon - a major step up and if you can win this one then you truly can lay claim to being "the best of the best"
