Rollercoaster Digs 2011

Postby cmdr_keen on Thu 9/Jun/11 7:49pm

To all interested,

Rollercoaster digging is on! This Saturday 11am, bottom of track (Top of Highbury Rd)

The digger has graded the track to some extent for us and we need to move 2 wooden ramps up the track.

Meet at the bottom of the track at 11am, if I'm not there just wander up the track (we will be about halfway up)

* Even if you can come for half an hour at from 12 that would be great as we just need lifters.

We are meeting a Ranger up the rollercoaster at 12 and we need to dig out and lift the ramps onto the Ranger's ute. (because the posts are concreted and really heavy) He will drive them up the hill for us :D

Tools provided, not a big workday so will be not be cancelled unless its torrential up there.

If need be text me on 0274466976

Cheers

A short edit of two new ramps we've installed. A step down and a 30ft hip, it needs some tweaking but it's running.

The line across the track in the last shot marks 10 metres from the takeoff ;)

Looking sweet! That sender looks a bit bigger then the old one

Are there down ramps for any of the other jumps? For us hard-tail'rs and non DH rig lads.

The step down before the sender has a really nice downside after it, I hit that on my hardtail pretty fast and its sweet.
New smaller, closer jump to be put in on the same downside as the sender.

The drain jump has a big tabled landing, which is going to rolled back a little bit at some point.
The smaller rollers at the top all have small downsides and that very top one is a lot easier than you would think.

More smaller jumps on the side to be put in within the near future, just that the only people digging have been DHers, so we were slightly biased with what has gone in first.
