Do any of you fine roadie types have a ride they can share with me that shows me the best/safest route from Plimmerton to town?

Thinking of riding it tomorrow.

TIA

After doing the Ruapehu Express on the MTB this weekend, I ventured up here (for the first time in about 20 years) as a non-recovery recovery ride!

Circa an hour and a half up and then 17 minutes down. :D

About 1 km down the road from where I live in Kuala Lumpur.

I've been going out at 3:30 each morning for a 50km ride before work. This morning I pulled up 49km short when, with a loud bang, the snapping of my saddle / setpost bolt dropped me unceremoniously on my arse. I happened to be sitting up riding no-hands at the time, adjusting my Roadworks (ahhhh, Oli !) jersey, before my erstwhile arse hit the back wheel and then the road.

I larfed and I larfed...Well, I whimpered, at least.

On the positive side, I did get to try out my cleat covers for the walk of shame home. I've been carrying them in my back pocket for the last few weeks, after experiencing my only puncture in years, through hitting a massive KL-special potcanyon in a dark section of downtown KLCC. They performed exquisitely, handling corners and hills (actually no hills) with great aplomb.

My arse and wrist hurt, and it's nothing to do with bedtime activities.

Chur, Adrian.

At least at 3:30am there aren't too many people around to view the spectacle. It reminded me very much of the old school trick of pulling a chair out from someone sitting down, with the added bonus of being from a greater height, and having rough asphalt passing by, after a quick ride on a rotating tyre.

All is good now, though, with a new seatpost installed.

My bike's a fixie, too (My old race bike). I didn't get the chance to ride out the tower of pain - it dropped me straight on the deck over the back in a nano-second. I didn't even get to swear on the way down. I suspect i was passing through a high-gravity zone at the time. I've been slightly less keen on riding sitting up with both hands around the back of my jersey since then.

That looks like a great ride, good work, some nice areas you've passed through. Didn't realise that loop would be 170km though!

That's because it wasn't 170km... It was only 156. I don't know why there's such a big discrepancy between the Google overlay (which uses the GPX file from Strava and Strava itself.
