The other good thing about 3x drivetrains is that they're compatible with 520mm handlebars, rim brakes and kickstands.

I like the method behind the SRAM drivetrains. Those crazy cassettes are incredibly light for what they are, the 10-42 is what, lighter than an xtr 11-36 with one less gear? Plus weight savings in the driver. If you're sponsored or rich then the drivetrain is perfection.

The problem is there's no way to make them cheaper. They've limited themselves to the highest of the high end. I don't think they thought about that. Now they're stuck with GX cassettes or worse that weigh half a ton and sound like an old pirate ship.

There's much more room for a kickstand with 1x. 520 is pretty wide for a hipster and who needs stinkin brakes anyway?

Ah fuck I misread and thought you were saying the new ones (12 speed) were still lighter than the 11 speed xtrs herp derp

I still dont see how this new 12 speed bizzo is a front mech killer like all the marketing fluff is saying, if you are still running a front mech how is that combo going to convince you?

The day I run 12 speed is the day I have a bike with a gearbox. I am super keen to throw a leg over on of those Zerodes.

We'll make sure that assertion is remembered in 18 months or so when you're rocking out to the Eagles.

Frame looks kinda cool - but I'm not sold on the smartness. Nothing on their "smart" platform that you can't do already with a standard bike computer/Strava/some other app?
