Bummer. It was a good week away. The car I was servicing for got 3rd in class ( non classic though ) if work permits I may get to go again.

Spent the last 2 weekends at Hampton Downs for the NZ Festival of Motor Racing, this year the theme was Porsche.
Some very cool machines there, but I gotta say the Porsche racing was completely overshadowed by the muscle cars, pre 65s and European Racing Classics.

Although, the 1977 Porsche 935 from the Porsche Museum in Germany was kinda nice, as was Bill Fulford's fully restored Lighting Direct 911 and the fire breathing ex Ray Williams 911 GT2.

For you lot with a leaning towards all things automotive, and specifically race cars, I encourage you to have a look at the Farcebook group "RCIS Race Cars In Sheds"

It's basically a place for people to show what race cars stuff they're doing in their sheds. NZ based page with mostly kiwi ingenuity stuff, and some overseas content. There are some incredibly clever people around, and alot of them are members of the group.

Of course, I'm totally unbiased in my love for the page, being one of the 2 admins...

Slightly nicer than my '83 biege Civic wagon with over 300k kms on it....that I used to have.
A heck of a lot more expensive too.

Le Mans is on. About 10hrs in and Toyota is leading LMP1 from Porsche, In GTE its Ferrari, Ford, Ford.

R1 exam passed and first full day ride in the silly seat coming up on the 17th.
