That second third water fall is beautiful. What's the blue/teal on that rock in the foreground?

:withstupid: very nice

I need to work out how to do tramping/over nights with the camera... my current pack is ok for day trips

I'm thinking of trying to spend the night in at lake Rotopounamu toward the end of the month if the weather plays the game or I head in for sunset stay in Taurangi then head back in about 3:30 am

For overnights, or anything when the weather is dodgy, I just pop my camera in a dry bag and then carry it up near the top of my pack. The hassle with that though is having to take my pack off every time I want to take some photos. I've experimented with attaching a holster type camera bag to the waist strap of my backpack, but have never really been that happy with how it sits. Something across the chest might work for ease of access though and that's probably the next thing I'll explore.

Something like Rotoponamu is a short enough walk, and close enough to Turangi that your 3:30am walk in would work pretty easily I'd imagine.
