Nice, Ryda. Looks very Mana-esque.

Nice Shane - there was a similar shot to your first one in the DomPost earlier this year, but it was shot on something crazy like a 600! Really highlights just how close our two islands really are.

From the deck out the front of our bedroom yesterday:

Do you guys make your own greeting cards? Most of these photos would be super sweet as personalised cards.

Did some experimenting with the Iso last night

Image
this one was at 1600 (trees & antenna light painted & it was windy hense the bluring)

at the below location I started with 800 then did a 1600 and a 3200
the 800 really was not so flash in comparison
the 1600 definitely better, unfortunalty the clouds had rolled to far into shoot and with 3200 they blew out
so I end up blending the 1600 & the 3200 to get the below (1600 left of the power lines / 3200 to the right)
yes it's not the best shot but it was interesting so see how the ISO changes the out come
and with the higher ISO how little I needed to adjust the exposure in 'post'

Image

I have been watching this tutorial, which I think has been very helpfull
(not for night but for undstanding my camera more in general)
