I tried those and got on better with pt gui. May have to go back and have another try. I know Mark Gee uses them.

talking of s/w - see DXO optics Pro 9.5 finally integrates nicely with Lightroom (before I got the strong feeling they were at war) - will have to check out the demo and see if it's as good as RAW processing as people claim!

Nice astro shots appearing here. Good to see Rob's work inspiring us.

Here are some flutterby and dragonfly shots from this arvo at a park on the way home from work...

Your a keen man taking on that boat ,looks like she has held her shape when she dried out .Dont set yourself a time frame to finish it ,I have never meet any one who meet there finish deadline restoring an old boat .Do you have any photos of her before you started working on her ?

I've owned her for 7 years, and she's in Australia, while I live in Singapore, so I'm not in any rush. She fully dried out over several Perth Summers, and has held her shape well. The planking is 3/4" jarrah, and the only area of rot is on the sheerstrakes where a 3" rubbing strake trapped moisture. These sections will be scarfed. The engine (Yanmar SB12) is good, as are all of the spars. We'll be steaming new second ribs before the next Perth Summer, and then it'll be a new deck. I'm planning on a cuddy cabin to give some protection (she had one once before).
Here she is back when I had her in the water a few years ago (It's been a while since our daughter read Barbie whilst lying in a boom-swung hammock)...

Chur, Crashed. I agree. She's a gaff-cutter squid boat built by the Sambrailo brothers - a piece of Western Australian history. This is the young 'un on her, the morning after an overnighter...
