there are going to be some spectacular views on this track. in one spot I could see most of the Hutt Valley, much of Wellington, including the CBD, The Makara wind turbines, The Cook Strait and the Kiakoura ranges.

But to counter that the track is going to be so much fun you won''t want to stop.

I know it's a little off topic, but can someone point me in the direction of any info about the "other" track - going down the Seaview side of the hill?

I'm keen to help with the track building for both trails regardless

The other track I think you are talking about is Super Plus. If you are on bookface, look up bicycle.co.nz, Cam has been posting about digs for it and seems to know what is happening.

I went up there on tuesday, no signage but figured it out,

it's going to be an amazing track when it's done, i left my bike by the fallout shellter dunny thing and walked it and took heaps of photos :)

Off topic but on the way back down instead of doing 491/spoon like always I did the upper part of spoon for the first time..had the dh sled but fuk me that was interesting, looked like it hadnt been riden for awhile.

Did that with my 96er Anthem, when I was playing with shortening the Reba fork travel to just 80mm. Was an unpleasant experiment.

Will never do that again. my wrists got turned into Jelly.

Wondering what the basic plan for the digger is (where and maybe when it's working). May be good to know so that we aren't clearing track if it's a bit that the digger is reshaping anyway?

Good things take time...The digger will start when the track building gets a bit further down the track, We have surveyed a line from start to finish and will run the scrub bar down it before the digger goes through.Where we are up to track wise we wont be clearing any more track till we have finished what we have already cleared ,digging down to the mineral shaping and armoring as needed.
