Had a go at landscape photography, something about this photo doesn't look right but I can't figure out what it is... Any constructive criticism would be awesome.

Ahh I see .Does the rule of thirds ever apply vertically or is it just horizontally ?

When I was there almost 10 years ago, Mitre Peak was obscured by mist! Awesome pic BTW

Both. The whole principle is based on breaking down your image into a 3x3 grid and placing important compositional features on the grid lines or at their intersections.

Like any rule it can be broken though (at times).

Christmas came early. :) Took the new toy for a walk today. 1st time I've really used an slr- nice to have a real click as opposed to a fake one out of a speaker!
