Right on.
It's worth remembering too that one of the local residents has a seat on Council and is known to bring forth some pretty anti-MTB views from time to time.
I was informed today that there is a process going on right now regarding Reserves and discussion of bike access in various spots across town. It seems that at least three Councillors, including the aforementioned one that lives in Aro Valley, are pushing back on bike access and not just in Aro Valley but also on Mt Vic.
There is still a majority of support for the extensive bike access we have in Wellington but we should NEVER take it for granted. Riding Squatters (or lower Planet Ride / Back Yard for those that still do) will only lead to the anti-Mountain Bike voices which definitely do still exist saying "see you let them build new tracks in the area and they still ride on closed tracks".
