Content-aware fill in photoshop CS5 is handy.
Got a cheapie canvas print voucher, decided to have this printed:
IMG_2863_resized.jpg

But because of the wrapping required was going to lose two of the birds.....

Content-aware fill to the rescue and now I've got this:
IMG_2863-4_resized.jpg

Looks slightly bodgy down the left hand side - but that bit will be wrapped around the edges of the frame anyway. Sorted.

I  that shot Bill - well worthy of being put on canvas ;)
Out of interest what sort of resolution was that - you're obviously happy with how it enlarged even to 30x20?

http://www.photosnap.co.nz/ is where we're getting them done. Was a killer deal on www.grabone.co.nz recently, doing an 18x12 for $35 - so snapped up a couple. Interestingly looking at their recent deals, they we really popular! (4473 sold vs a couple of hunded of any other recent deal).

Originally it was 3072 x 2304 cropped to 3072 x 2048 resolution 72dpi. I think I would get away with going bigger too. (EZiPRINT will advise you if the resolution is to small for the print)

Bought a YongNuo YN468 External Flash yesterday, arrived today.

Had a wee play with the 60D's inbuilt wireless trigger. Total crap!

Needs a direct line of sight and even only works if there's low ambient light, no idea why, just messes it all up. :D

Waiting on my trigger/receiver units to arrive now, should be able to go up to flying nun and get a few shots in before Vic Park opens, if it ever does.

Yeah I was a bit disappointed about the whole line of sight thing but I haven't had any problems using it in practice. Also annoying how it doesn't allow for high-speed and 2nd curtain firing.

Yeah, made a safe bet and bought a set of triggers/receivers because I didn't rely on it working with the flash anyway.

If you cant afford Pocket Wizards, give the "Poverty Wizards" a go. Theyre branded iShoot, got them off trade me for $60, for a sender and reciever. Keep the batteries fresh and theyre great. Next to no misfires, ive had them working great out to about 80m. Ive only really used them more or less in line of sight, but they still work behind bushes or trees etc.
An ok stop gap untill you can afford a bigger better system.

Also check out Radio Poppers, as opposed to Pocket Wizards.
Alien Bees are also worth a look.
