60D is the only one (550D, 60D, 7D) with a manual sound level ability.

So if you plan on using it to record sound (either with built in or external mike) go for that.

Checkout this $15 lens macro filter... Keyhole depth of field, as demonstrated by this pic. Super cool though, can get some mean shots from such a small amount of $$.

It's a big bulbous 8x macro lens filter. Essentially a magnifying glass. Because it's so bulbous, I'm presuming the camera can only focus on a tiny part.

17-70OS is OK but reputed to have focus issues and isnt f2.8 for very long, but apart from that thats a very nice shopping list!
