Eskdale MTB park Napier, tracks are average and their berms are collapsed and made of sand :hmmm: where is the rock? also did that te mata peak track from the top, it ends at this fence 3/4 of the way down. good track tho, fun.

I got out for a great skid today. Rode from Karori out to Waitangirua to meet up with a few keeners, before heading through some nifty tracks and into Belmont Regional Park. Up from Takapu Road, around the tops, down Chopper & Big Weta, before heading up to the trig, down to Baked Beans and out to the main track. From there we headed up to Oakleigh St for paddle pops, before heading back down past Korokoro and out to Petone to head back to K-town. Great fun

OK, it's yesterday now coz it's morning, but..

mon: up transient to sanctuary fenceline, up to car parts (i guess, was exploring new places for me - had car parts on it tho...) till some way up, then realised was gonna be late, so back down car parts, down fenceline to george denton park, highbury fling, back down transient.

sun: up transient to sanctuary fenceline, down to george dents, down squatters.

man, is transient ever the more fun down? squatters felt like a real waste of altitude, hanging on the brakes most of the way, big ups to polehill crew for the effort on transient, fun both ways!
(will probably attend wed work party to give back + say hi tomorrow)

note: legs are not used to that kind of altitude gain 2 days in a row, sore but like it :D

Headed out in the mist this morning to rip some XC skids.

Started with a lower loop at Makara, then up Salvation, over Wrights Hill and down Scout Hall and Gold Mine. Cruised up the road to Denton Park, then along Highbury Fling, then up Sawmill to the Rollercoaster. Up Carparts, then along Carparts extn before hitting the road up to Hawkins Hill. Down to Red Rocks using the new little line at the bottom (no sliced tyre this time!) before heading back round the coast to the old quarry. Moseyed up the road to the Tip Track, and sifted my way back up to the top. Back along the road to Carparts extn, Carparts, then Sawmill before some tarmac. Saw Mr. Bee-Dub out and about on my way to Transient. Had a fun ride down there, then through town and back to Karori. Nice to be out without any dust - although some of the trails were a bit slick in places! Even got my bike muddy :o

Got out for another mint ride this morning.

Started by heading into town, and across to Mt Vic. Hit a lap of this years nationals course, before heading through Newtown and Island bay and around the coast. Not really sure why, but headed up the tip track again today. Legs actually felt better today than yesterday, but bearing in mind I was just out to put in some time on the bike, I didn't hit it too hard - still, got to the top in a shade under 22 minutes which was cool. Actually, it wasn't cool - I had sweat dripping from my elbows amongst other bits. Didn't feel too foul at this point, so moseyed back down for another go. Decided to go just a little harder, and reached the seal in a bit over 20 minutes. Carried on down the road as far as Carparts extn, and cruised along there. Shit the bed, there were SO many little flying bugs/insects along there today - it really is difficult trying to smash along a trail at pace with your mouth closed! Was relieved to find Carparts proper was a relatively fauna-free affair. Still, always good to get a bit of extra protein out on the trail. From there I headed along the Rollercoaster, down Sawmill and along to and down Transient for the run through the city and back to K-town.

Mint.

Nice ride - double Tip Track is always fun really horrible. Someone needs to give you a particularly time-consuming job, as it's less than ideal reading about this after a day at work. I did manage 65km on the roady today but had to forgo some sleep to get it in. Was so calm!

Bit of a tough 110km today, out to Aka's summit and back.On the return leg, a driver intentionally attempted to side swipe me. I was heading through an intersection and him turning right,

so sorta like this...

Me on bike ------> Wgtn City
^ ----> Wgtn City
I
I
Dickhead in car,

Anyway, he swung it way wide so about 2feet between us, grinned at me and put his foot down, staring in the rear-view mirror. Realising his intentions I put on my most handsome girly grin and shoved him my most golden version of the finger (high and proud). He returned the favour, and I managed to live another day on a bicycle.

I pedalled from Karori to Strathmore today.
On the road. About 17kms. On my precious. With a very large pack full of beer, meat and salad :D

Slightly wierd with no edges to fall off to speak of, no rocky banks, and likewise the absence of threatening trees.
Leaping pedestrians and U Turning SUVs are unpleasant things, and diesel buses beltch soot and hot air.

However it was pretty good fun.

I am keen to be back in the forest tomorrow

I headed out just before 8 for a quick lap at Makara.

Had an awesome time just cruising round the grand loop. Even stopped on Aratihi to admire the view of the sun setting over the south island. Great fun though, heaps of grip after the rain this morning!

Are these the berms on Dam Canyon? I think they are works in progress. One would hope. And I noticed that the berms were made out of yet to be hard-packed ash. They have the potential to be railable when they're a bit more stabilised.. Then again I was racing so maybe I was imagining things
