I feel like I should start fulling finger a bit with the riding, since I've taken a few months off doing any "training", and a couple of events loom in the new year. Hit up Makara hill x 10, then round the bays with Mts Vic, Crawford and Albert thrown in, before heading back to K-town. A bit under 3,000m climbing and some reasonable sunburn. Great day to be out

Not quite road, not quite today, not quite me doing it ... BUT ...

There was some fantastic racing at the velodrome on Tuesday evening and - check this out - who says you can't kick butt wearing baggy shorts? Awesome performance by Aaron Anderson!!

I stopped at the intersection just down from my house just now. Pulled up to a complete stop from a sedate pace and way inside "my" side of the intersection.... And the roadie coming past a second or two later still felt the need to scream out "CAAAAAAAAAAR TOOOO THE LEEFT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" to his two buddies  That guy is gonna have a sore throat tomorrow if he's going to point out every single car on the road :D

Another primo day in the Welly town. Evening rides don't really get much better than tonight (or last night)... :)

after a few days rest I enjoyed the stunning weather and surfed the southerly home last night, 'cept it turned into a headwind around the haywards and through to Brown Owl and deflated me a bit :)

However jeyboi told me I was still too lazy this arvo so I tried harder this evening (he did give me the good news that it still a southerly, not the predicted northerly so I was happy). I also had a help from my mate MD who ripped my legs off. End result...almost broke the 2hr mark to Waikanae, reaching the railway crossing at 2:00:32 GAH! would have made it if we hadn't been held up by a car on the aka's descent  didn't seem fair, we pulled to the side for him on the way up!

I got out and about in the breeze today. Headed round some streets in Wadestown, then out and up Korokoro/Normandale and down Sweetacres to Hill rd. Turned around, and returned the same way to Korokoro, before a drag back into town with a meaty tailwind. Good fun.

Nice little 50 km at 5.30 am this morning. Big weekend on the bike so a bit of a recovery ride out on the flats . . . . .

Those Korokoro/Normandale hills are fun. Trying to stick with Tosh, Henry and Sam Raphael up Sweetacres after Hill Road was the first time I ever hurled on a bike. :D

Yeah, they're cool fun alright. Sweetacres is steeper than Horokiwi too, which surprised me! Thankfully it's not as long...
