Cripes!!! Not sure if you really need 2 snails on a Lambo!
Had a great weekend on fire rescue at Pukekohe, got to assist with a few incidents, including the Suzuki Swift Cup cars that crashed at turn 2/3 (Castrol) and Gaunt stuffing a brand new GT3 Cup car into the wall at Turn 1 during testing. Oops.

Also got to experience being in one of the chase cars all weekend. Seeing the NZV8s do a rolling start from directly behind them is awesome!

I Don't know if it's a bad thing, but my favourite car of the whole weekend was the safety car. Merc CL63 AMG Black Series, sounded stunning at full noise on the back straight!

The very second hand GT3!

Safety Car, I'm in love!

Haha, was thinking about you when I saw some of it on tv this afternoon. Getting live coverage for the NZV8's is the best thing TV1 has done in years. I mentioned those CLK63 Black Series a while back now, a guy in Wellington has set one up for Targa, they are a very impressive piece of kit.

Gaunt really did a number on the GT3 huh? looks well hit.

Aww, shucks!!

The Safety Car was driven by Tony Rutherford, he may have found the traction control button once or twice.

Yeah, Gaunt hit pretty hard, we checked them on the pit laser, the GT3s are doing around 230km/hr into the braking area where he lost it. According to the infield grape vine, it wasn't his car, and he was borrowing it for a test session to see if he/his team wanted to buy it. Apparently fixable, but about $100k in damage.

Wasn't on TV1 at mine - I had NZV8TV (which included a NZV8's press & test day) then MotoGP while TV3 had Puke.

So look's like it was special just for you.

Ah I must have read it wrong in the EPG and Dents said TV1 which I'm guessing was meant to be tv3 then.
Thought it was odd two channels having the same thing

I only saw TV3 cameras/presenters there, they even asked race control to delay the start of the final NZV8s race so they could get one more driver interview in!!!

Can't wait for Thunder in the Park now! 3-5 December @ Pukekohe, hanging out to see the GT1 cars. I just read their regs, and they're basically unlimited.

Not quite true. They have to have working doors and a roof panel. Apart from that they are unlimited.

I did say "basically". Smartarse!! :p

Keen to see my neighbour's M3 out on the track there. He said the other day it's good for 285km/hr on the back straight at Puke.

That's what I would have though, but I'm not that familiar with Pukekohe...yet.
