I agree, although I really like flying nun up this end.

Worsleys, Nun, Traverse, Vernon, Britten, Greenwood, Captain Thomas. Was rather windy in places though, getting blown out of the trench going down Greenwood was a new experience.

Mint weather yesterday, first MTB ride in about 3 weeks, rode up Transient, Karepa St to Wind turbine, Carparts Extension both ways, Carparts, Back Door.
Track were dry, few soft spots in places. Didn't see any other riders in the area. Most must be riding the crowded Makara Peak Park.

You do know that Transient was approved and supported financially by WCC Parks and Gardens so that people wouldn't have to ride on Back Door which crosses private property. There are more plans afoot (e.g. near Rooty track) in the same area which will be screwed if the locals revolt, again, like they have in the past. Lots of people worked really hard to get improved access in this area, best to stay off of Planet Ride / Back Door now that there is a legal option.

Not today but yesterday; From a hill above Island bay to Mt Vic, to Aro valley, up through some (quite grouse) tracks to the Wind turbine via bits of the roller coaster, car parts, and car parts extn, down the Tip Track, around the water to Island bay, then back up the hill. 30Kms and 4Hrs odd, Oli you 'missed out'

:o Sounds grouse!

Today on my walk with the BW Boys I have discovered yet another "new" track close by to base that is well worth a bit of tarmac-time to explore another time..

Had a play around Miramar, legs weren't keen on much after the peak points but I wasn't about to waste the sun completely either. Jailbreak is a damn good time, that track always makes me grin. We Wellingtonians are a lucky bunch really to have the riding we do in the region.

Yesterday I did a bit of self-flagellation around the PNP Mt Vic course.

Alot of what makes up the course is completely new to me... I always used to think Mt Vic was a bit of a boring place to ride. I've been shown the light, I guess.
