I'm selling my D5000 for a 550D, so that looks quite a competitor. Which would be better price wise will be the one to get.

I film mostly so the 60p-720p/1080p-30p in Manual Video is awesome

Yeah that's why I got the D5000 as a starter camera, shoots 25p 720p which is the low HD quality, and the screen certainly makes high/low angles much easier. But can live without it for better quality and high fps

60d isnt actualy a bad camera, like a rebel turbo, Ok its not quite a match for the 50D in someareas but canon have split the line into two with the 7D going upmarket.

I'd wait though for the D95 to be anounced see what it comes with.

Looks like the 40D will still seem to be the right choice in that level... No regrets still :D

Yep... Looks like the 40D will stay as my back-up to the 1DmkIII for a while longer yet!
