Had some great fun yesterday using the groms on the dirtjumps at woodhill for action practice.

That's pretty cool woodsy... me likey.

Had a crack at the new HDR feature of CS5 today, pritty happy with the outcome seeing im only using a "point n shoot" style camera.

slight problem though, seem to have developed some harsh edges in some areas when using the remove ghosts. any ideas how to fix these without going around with the healing tool. Although a less windy day might improve this?

You need to be in aperture priority so that the aperture stays the same and the shutter speed changes. That gives the same depth of field. P&s might not do that for you.

Havnt had a good play with CS5's HDR tools, still seems inferior to photomatix's so try a demo of that.

Agreed, while CS5 is a vast improvement on CS4's HDR processing its still left in the dust by Photomatix.

To see some great HDRs (and how I think HDR should look for the most part, making the shot look realistic not overblown over saturated) www.stuckincustoms.com hes got some great NZ shots on there too.

lol, convenient picture that was already on my hard drive...

still not quite done with grom pictures, processed them using presets in lightroom and not 100% happy with the results, so going to re process tonight and re upload to facebook/smugmug...

Tried a bit of HDR with the photomatix trial, not the best subject, but better than anything i've tried in photoshop haha. You can see a definitive line through the clouds, where it's very saturated on one side, and not in others, anyone know how to stop that from happening? HDR noob so any advice is good advice
