That's Bernie Hines Broadspeed Replica. The originals, of which about 11-12 where built are worth a fortune. Bernie imported this replica fibreglass rear section from the UK 9-10 years ago. (I think they are made by Banhams) It is one very fast brick!

Went down to Taupo for a Track Day yesterday. Had an absolute blast, and really got to find the limits of my baby. Got my fastest lap time so far (2.07.3) which I know is f*cking slow, but it was bloody good fun, and got some good sideways action going. A good variety of cars there, with a few more exotics than last time.

I think I might be in love with the Westfield XTR2, hence the number of photos. 1300cc Hayabusa powered, 170hp, 400kg and an exhaust note I could listen to all day!

I really don't take up much of the track!
TypeR1.jpg
One of the several Type Rs.
RS41.jpg
A big RS4 came out for a play.
Commodore1.jpg
Old school Commodore NZV8. Fast and savagely loud!
XTR21.jpg
The truly awesome Westfield XTR2.

The truly awesome Westfield XTR2.
Lotii1.jpg
Yellow Lotii, common as muck!
Statesman1.jpg
Bog standard Statesman, except for interior stripping. Handling seemed "interesting"
Hondas1.jpg
A few of the VTEC boys.
Field1.jpg
Most of the field, on the warm up laps.
Showpony1.jpg
A show pony came along, but stayed in the carpark.

looked like a great day!

sorry didn't make it. Just didn't get time to fit the new solid mounts, and couldn't bring either of the S's as they needed rego, oil change, warrant and the tires pumped up and in the case of the 66 the gearbox rebuilt!

That Westfeild is a mighty machine! Heres another ne to keep the eyes out for ....NZ built special the Terra FX. he runs it at the IRC race series in the Suzuki Class..

Check out the IRC.org.nz website, look under the Suzuki Class cars, theres an incredible range of machines, including Juno's , Lotus 11, Westfields, Radical and off course shoreboys fave the 7's replicas!

So it's almost like a catamaran-car with not much in the middle?

I have to admit, I think the Westfield is prettier, but I'd still happily take the Terra.
I've decided that I'd love to own a bike powered car one day...
