Wainui Trails

They're leaving me all tingly at the moment. Inspired to go back and dig some more.

Soul is pretty damn good too.

Karapoti.Have done it once before back in February and it took about 6 hours. Today was 4 hrs 20 so I was happy with the improvement but it is bloody hard work.

had a wee play out in riverhead and had a wee stack, good to ride trails that are a challenge.

Colin, If the three sisters are the wet one, the fast one and the tight one, then shouldn't the other track be the easy step sister :D :D

Not sure why i decided the tip track was a good idea on boxing day but I never have been particularly smart. Was worth it though, made way for some more food. :D

Popped up to Wainui hill for a quick ride and since I had a bush saw on me just happened to stop for about 1/2 hour to start clearing a new track we plan to build next year

Hi all
I live in Alaska and would love to come to S island for 7-10 bike tour in Feb 2010, some sightseeing, possibly climb Mt Cook and/or Aspiring, hook up with locals etc I just got this incredible bike - see pics - and can't wait to take it out for a ride. Any suggestions anybody? Are motorist friendly? Is February good month? What temps, weather, winds etc should I expect?
Thanks a ton and happy holidays,
VitaminD ;)

Went for my first night ride around Makara Peak tonight, and second night ride ever. Almost a grand loop (decided against riding Ridgeline until I get used to the lights). Was totally awesome. Didn't see another person the whole time and not a drop of wind.

Just me, my bike, and the stars (well, low cloud)

It was a hard ride though. Today I got back from visiting relations in the South Island for nearly two weeks. That is two weeks of eating constantly with no riding.

There goes my goal for Karapoti :D

P.S. Thanks Fatwomble for the lights. :)
