I worked it out its only a bit over an hour a night minimum or 2hrs to hit the max.

I've enough trouble with my sleeping with out the kid factor, I'd hate to work out what I would lose a year

Hey is anyone in the market for a cheap cot?

hthttp://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listi ... 10&ed=true

Works great, you just have to pick it up from Mt Maunganui. On tardme at $1 RESERVE.
Might not be there forever though, tardme have withdrawn the auction twice so far, I keep changing it. Seems they get very nervous about people selling older, 2nd hand cots. Any questions, just fire away via PM.

Just spent a wee while looking back over this thread, to find this gem that I posted exactly 1 year ago today.....
dented wrote:A massive surprise for us this morning. Heidi said something last night about feeling movement. I scoffed at it. Then she buys 2 home testers this morning, both positive. Our world has been tipped upside down. We thought we had it all worked out, the perfect family.
Oh well, time for a rethink. Looks like we are about 20 weeks in, we get a scan on Thursday to find out.
Feel pretty weird about it

Its been a whirlwind 12 months I can tell ya. We knew things were going to be busy, and they are. Our beuatiful little daughter Shannon turned 8 months old just over a week ago.
I find that I do a lot less biking than I used to, but Im ok about that. Life for us is all about finding a balance, we dont get it right very often, but we're happy to get it fairly close, most of the time. I have recently come to the conclusion, that part of being a parent is accepting that you cant be perfect at it all the time.

Sorry to anyone who finds this post a bit soppy. No, actually Im not sorry. I quite like this thread, and its fun sharing some of this stuff with you guys actually.

Great stuff, Craig. And at the risk of sounding equally as soppy, please keep sharing with us.

Nice!
BTW what was wrong with the cot dented, posts sticking up? I got ours from our cousins, it had little posts sticking up at the corners I cut them completely off then smoothed the corners round so there was no way any littlies could get anything hooked.

Yeah some stoopid thing like that. I smashed the sides and sent them to the tip, and made the base and ends into some wooden structures for my kid to ride. Planning on using the mattress at the bottom of a indoor rock-climbing wall Im building for the kids.

Next to my house here in Finland we have a hill that was remodeled during WW2 with trenches. It is only a few hundred metres high but this has about 8 levels. Taking the lad out to get him used to offroad, got chatting to a local old bloke. The German troops called this area kettle due to the number of saunas Finns built there.

Kettle in German is kessel, so in some weird quirk this is a Kessel run. The empire strikes back.

It's the trike that made the Kessel run in 12 parsecs - she's fast enough for you old man.
