Terminator Salvation

Postby j2hyde on Mon 3/Aug/09 9:36pm

So, I just, uhh, borrowed this movie from my, uhh, local video store. :)

And was it just my imagination or was this the biggest piece of shit since whatever the last tom cruise movie was?

No, I'm pretty sure it wasn't my imagination. It sucked. Hairy balls. Very disappointing.

Yar. I saw it at the movies. Paid for it and everything. Parts of it were pretty, but I really wasn't engaged by it.

I'm holding much larger hopes for drag me to hell this week...

Never heard of either of them. Then again we don't have a cinema in this town. Isohunt ftw. :(

Oh, and has peter jackson never really moved on from braindead? Special effects are cool and so are aliens and elves/orcs/hackfests, but in the end they are no real substitute for plot. Even mel gibson knows that, and he's a tool. :)

I didn't mind aspects of Terminator Salvation, but I did feel a bit meh afterwards and a few things annoyed the hell out of me.

Although I enjoyed the scene itself, I thought the giant robot didn't really fit it - if they had one, why not heaps of them? And it was so Transformersish it almost seemed like a clunky homage...

Also the little motorbike things were derivative and irritating.

ALSO, how come when Arnie was beaten were there no more Terminators? I know they'd killed a few already, but it all seemed a bit easy.

Lastly, it annoyed the fuck out of me that they fly out, circle around over the Terminator factory and THEN set off the nuke - shouldn't they have flown as far away as they could first?

Apart from that it was awesome! :D

You serious? Jacksons themes are death, and family and honour. Wrapped with some bleak humour.

You have seen Heavenly Creatures, right? Even the Frighteners?

and I just read a review of The Lovely Bones which sounds pretty good.

never moved on from Braindead? pffffffft.

Apparently Drag me to hell is Raimi's "best film since Evil Dead 2."

We'll see.

and District 9 looks good and has a lot of hype. Hopefully not greivously disappointing.

Salvation was the most dissapointing terminator movie yet. It doesnt make its own mark at all, plays like an extended TV episode.
