its a lens made by sigma :)

if you are looking at one make sure you buy from someone who will let you return it
in the event that its not working right be wary of front and rear focus problems
(i have a 120-300mm2.8 that front focuses about 75mm in front of where im focusing)
and read as many reviews as poss

Thinking of getting a telephoto lens.
Dont really want to spend a lot at all due to the fact that I probably wont use it much at all.
Was just going to get a 75-300 mm or 55 - 200mm cheapie, but the other day read an article in the press about using old m42 lenses with canon bodies, although you lose af/metering etc the quality to cost seems very good. Anyone know any more about this?

Many people get rid of their used 70-200 f/4L lenses... I love mine if you can find one :)

Yeah I definitely don't have the budget for the 70-200 and espically as I don't see my self using a telephoto that much.
Think I might go down the line of getting a m42 lens rather than buying a crappy 75-300/55-200/80-200.

more samples from 500mm ignore the high noise and slightly blurry
not bad for a $145 doller lens
(range between 1/80th to 1/200th f8 at 1200 and 3200 iso which is realy no good for hand held 500mm lens) )
