They've done experiments on people who are beheaded - they were able to communicate with blinks for a surprising amount of time post beheading...
A bullet in the head is very different, but you'd hope it got the right spot.
I wonder how they do that politely - 'OK we're gonna cut your head off for this experiment, now once we're done with that try blinking at us'.
And what sort of questions do they ask of the head? 'OK does your neck hurt?' blink once for no, twice for somewhat, three times for a lot''?
