I'm really enjoying my "new" camera and my wee boy is a lot of fun. My brother-in-law gave him some reading glasses as a joke for Christmas and here is a selection of the photos I took of him...

Nothing like getting a new camera from Santa!! Nice clear crisp photos of the young lad and the post above with the coffee machine making coffee is really cool too! Need that on my PC as wallpaper in the morning, maybe a mental wakeup call if I can't manage to find time for a real cup of coffee haha

Got me a cable release, and a couple filters :)

Now to see how much damage the USB will cost...

The camera took them in 3264x2448, which then went down to 600x450 for posting.

I've been working on this one today. Took the photo in July, but prepared it for printing and mounting today. Giving it to a friend for a present on her Birthday.

Nice pic - is that a single shot or several stitched together?

That one is a single shot. There was a lot of black top and bottom that I have cropped out, then enhanced the lighting levels with Photoshop Elements and added the words.

I think (memory's a bit hazy) that it may have been taken part way up Mt Vic. as opposed to from the top. I took somewhere around 100 photo's that morning, so cant be too sure, although the angle makes me think it was a wee way up.

Took these pics yesterday. Was playing around with the manual controls (shutter aperture and focus) for the fence post shots. For the black backed gull shot I had the camera in program (point and shoot) mode as I find it difficult to have the perfect settings when you are trying to capture a spontaneous shot!

Great shot of the seagull. I took the camera on an outing to Godley Head (Christchurch) today to try it out some more. Took lots of photos but wasn't that excited by any of them and I was getting frustrated at the camera not doing what I wanted it to do (like focussing on what I wanted it to focus on) so I came home and read some more pages of the manual and have learnt a bit more on how to operate the camera.

We didn't have a torch and we went down in to the bunkers where it was pitch black. We used the light that the flash gives out when it is trying to focus on something in the dark to find our way around (once I had figured out in the dark how to get the camera to do that).

It was a great family day out. Here are some of the pictures I took.
