Nice Woodsy - I was out last night trying to take some photos of the light glow from the city. I had to break just about every friggin shot as planes kept flying through... with multi-minute exposures this gets a wee bit annoying.

maybe I should have just them in ?

I think that would have ruined the effect I was after for this particular shot so they needed to be out....

I really really really try to not do muhc in PS, I will sharpen and adjust levels slightly, ut my real aim is to get it right in the camera first. Does't always happen and I will have to edit in post. On Flickr I will comment if it has been edited.

Put a piece of black paper or the lens cap infront of the lens when the plane flies over  I'm unsure how well it would work but for long exposures it might work.

thats a trick for taking several photos of the same scene but using different exposures (and sticking them together in PP), you can get a really cool effect

that would work quite well - I have thought of using that technique for some multi-exposure stuff, not to remove planes.

good plan !

I like the blue hue in the pic, was that to do with the white balance in the camera?

Okay, so it is nothing great, but it worked out okay considering the quality of the camera and photographer

Anyone got hints for photo stitching in photoshop.
I've had a brief search through google and found a few websites, but there either using an old photoshop (elements 5) or the stitching is very basic as there is no barrel distortion.

Freerider21: get yourself a copy of PTGui, it's very easy to use and I find is better than Photoshop stitching... see below for a pic I took last weekend up at the Redwoods...
