I've got an old Canon Powershot A80 (one of the older ones with full manual controls and stuff, but I'm stuck with the lens attached to the camera).

If I want to improve the shots that I take, and start to extend out so that I use the full manual mode more than the point and shoot modes, is there any good websites that explain thinks like balancing up the F values and shutter speeds etc? Just after some info so I know what its talking about, and generally just where to start.

Cheers... from what I can tell what I will be using the flash for, the 420 will work fine for me... Then I can just save for a 580 and have my wireless master and a slave unit for it...

I have bought two books from Amazon. It will give you some good tips, Volume 2 seems to be more for photographers that have the bling or bottomless pockets full of money and can afford numerous different types of external flashes, at least 2 camera bodies and countless different types of lenses, filters etc!
