It changes gear beautifully - I guess XTR is a fairly big step up from Deore that's several years old and not cleaned that often on my old hardtail :+) And suspension!!! Oh my god - who knew what a difference forks that actually move make! Let alone the beautiful rear suspension that makes the ride so much more comfortable and much less scary in places! And the fancy crossmax XL tubeless wheelset is so light, I think this bike is actually lighter than my hardtail
