probably about 6 hrs.... it was "therapy" if I was doing it again I'd get it professionally done.

blue, oven cleaner + brasso + elbow grease = polished
dented wrote: This is your Jeffson frame right? The fox's must be nice after the last forks I saw on there.
yep same frame, stronger caliper mount though, same forks, have had the fox's for a while. started as pilots then, minutes, then the floats.

Nice James - saw you there this morning, you were half way up Upland and I was at the bottom of the hill, couldn't be arsed trying to catch you, and would have failed miserably...

How are you finding those '08 XT brakes?
just got back from the forest after the first ride (I finished building it up last night in time to watch the rugby).
'08 XT very nice feel to the brakes, the XTR ones felt a bit flimsy, these feel solid complete over kill for a single speed (don't use the brakes!) They say 20% more power... maybe? I'll wait a few more rides till they bed in properly.

here is a better pic in daylight.

thats core as.

ah Gus and me were getting in some SS action for the AMBC champs in 2 weeks. went all the way out to no-brakes (or should I say a couple of dabs on the brakes now after the extension)

James. Without a doubt, that is the finest bicycle I have seen in a long long time.
Wonderful.

Looks good, you should put that tensioner on properly though.

The Hammer is a work of art. Utterly stunning, classic steel frame, XTR cranks with the Blackspire guard, colour matched white Syncros rims and WTB saddle, red nips, red chainring bolts and red decals on the rims, just enough black Thomson stuff to ballance the white and stop the whole thing from looking overdone. The classic old school Panaracer Spikes are the perfect finishing touch. I'm quite hard to impress but that bike just blows me away, awesome job!
