went to Nelson for the day...the missus burnt a hole on the credit card while I went riding

rode up Codgers with the plan to get onto Fireball, then Turners, drop onto Fireball again the do Dead dog..then maybe head across valley to do Supplejack or Broken axe or something..

But the XC crew were racing Fireball, so thought I'd give Devils Tail a crack..but the DH crew were attacking that.. :)
Watched the DH guys for awhile then rode the 2wd road up to Fringe Hill, the DHers had shuttled to the top by this time..decided to ride to Third House..pretty gnarly bush track(short though)..plenty of pushing on the ups...met fellow Vorber Pedalhed and a couple of mates on the Trail..Thanks for the trail tips, will check out Peaking ridge next time..
Dropped into Third House and out via Dun MT Railway...

Finished off riding out to Tahuna Beach ..discovered my swingarm pivot bolts have cut loose :( LBS for bike tomorrow...

Great Arvo anyway...Nelson Rocks!! :p

Did carparks and some other track that goes all the way to the bottom of the hill today. I've just never been going in the right direction to do them before. Must say they are nice and I'll have to leave for work earlier and take a mountain bike more often!

Yesterday I went for a ride around the puddle they call Bottle lake, This is the first ride round there in about a year and a half, due to being out of the country.
All i can say is what a transformation. The amount of work thats gone into upgrading the trails adding new lines, I really like the criss cross tracks. Yes it has some sand but thats what makes it a challange, plus its not flat.
In my opinion its a great place to ride.
(just dont do it on 2.6 dh tyres and rims, only wheels available)

Sunday morning did a Makara trip - started at 8. Gorgeous sunshine and only a slightly bitter southerly blowing.

St Albans - Magic Carpet - Koru - Sally - Missing Link - Aratihi - Lizards - possum - Nikau - Aratihi - Summit - Ridgeline/Tom/SWIGG/Starfish - Salvation - Mr X/Deliverance - Koru - Sally - Ridge Ext - Magic - Livewires.

4 hours all up, The lizards/possum/nikau loop is special. Even tried jumping the tabletops on the skills area (thanks someone for making those aging muppet friendly

That's a beaut :) Almost entirely purpose-built single track too!

Rode the pahiki track from the motu road down on sunday.
We had a good ride even though there was a bit of hiking due to tree fall, slips and washed out creek crossings.

Yesterday I rode out to Wainui from town, around the race track with KWJ and damien, and a few other bits as well, over the hill to my dad's for a beer and a pear ( I had only eaten a macademia nut and honey bar, and a gooey caramel memphis meltdown ALL day) and then rode back into town and home. I was a gibbering wreck by the end of the day

Sessioned new Maraetai DH track yesterday. Not too bad, but I didn't have enough grip.

From work I rode up the Rollercoaster past the Turbine then onto the road up to the castle and then down the Tip Track in the dark with no lights.

But before I got to the castle I took these pics with my phone, looks like its gonna be a nice day tomorrow (fingures crossed). Unfortunately because I stopped to take photos I cooled down quite quickly and froze from this point onward to all the way home. By the time I got home I could barely move my figures let alone register I had toes
