Drove a firkin long way to get to Woodhill. 80km round trip from home.

Rode with the young fella (6 yrs). He's riding well enough for it to be a constant session. Feel a bit guilty though as he's on a 16" rigid singlespeed concrete block.... he he he :satan: :satan:

Better than the usual daily commute.

Decided at 4:15 that I'd rather be riding than working so I went home, grabbed my bike, and headed to Makara  Got a good 40 minute singletrack loop in before I turned on the commuter lights and headed back home :) Twas good!

So up to the wind turbine, a long the top and down scout hall.

The highlight of the trip for me was not the veiw, but the encouragement on the road that siad "no chain, no pie"

Hmm will check it out, chur chur.

He's needs a bigger bike and I have been looking at a couple of geared options in the Kona Makena and Marin Hidden Canyon, but am a little relunctant to buy gears and suspension for a 6-7 year old.

But he's keen to ride the ups as well as the downs and the gears would probably give him more time in the saddle rather than pushing up some sections.

I don't know, kids today...

Super track - and it looks like you had weather as fine as our trip.

But I sort of feel I have to go back one day and earn the down.
