Was all good up until then, just glad we hadn't ventured any further up than Ridgeline ext.
i was at the top of the peak when the first drops came down. was great coming down ridgeline, i swear it hailed.

We'd almost gone up that far, stopped at the extension for a run then once we saw the dark clouds, headed down Swigg. Monolith and his missus appeared to have enjoyed the ride down in the rain. The sucky bit was pulling the bikes apart in the carpark and getting comprehensively soaked.

I think there was a bit of hail at the start, that or some daaaaamn big droplets

I got up to find empty streets called my mate up. Decide to go for ride. GO up to Long Gully First run down of LG in years. 4 crashes on the most slippery terrain ever. Rode the nats track and popped out my brake lever twice. Should have done jawbone but tit isnt finished. Then did one run of windmill. Twas sweet. And capped it of with mt vic. New score LG:4 Fox:0.

And didnt have to share the trails with a single rider which was amazing.

I rode Bethunes today.
The trails where wet - but better than yesterday.
There where 5 of us for a while... but Scott wasn't feeling the best, and Celia left...
So then there was 3.
We rode the trails - oh how we rode.
Then we stopped and went home.

Coolies.

also took up my folding spade and did a wee bit of maintenance (although I really need to go back up with some big boy tools and spend some more time)

That reminds me, I need to order in some more contacts

It certainly screws with your depth perception with only one contact lens eh?!

I carry a spare pair of contacts in the camelbak - 10 g weight penalty including case :p

Makara Peak grandcircuit with a sidedish of Nikau loop......Bike cleaning time = ride time pretty much.

I used to be a big fan of the one day throw away contacts (pre LASIK) used to always have some chucked in my various skiing, kayaking, riding, diving bags....

That said... LASIK is just the bomb!
