Meh, 20 year old sports bikes that are probably shagged anyway, looking at the fairings on the floor one of them as been down the road anyway.

Whereas this probably merits some time and money

I like 20 year old sports bikes. It's a shame that so many of them are just shagged or over priced nowadays.

Actually they are really good fun, other than the suspension being average when new and worse when worn out, most of those jappy IL4's just keep on going.

There are some good buys out there, my bro sold his 87 FZR1000 for $2.5k with 57k on the clock, some bargain giggles at that price.

:withstupid: Regular oil / filter changes can see those engine/boxes right for over 100k kms (its just that we get put off when we see that number coming up on the odo.)
There are good suppliers for aftermarket bodywork too – stuff that doesn’t cost $2k a side.

The Norton Project. Retired Dad has Norton 750 in the basement in bits since it broke in the 90's. They steal it from his basement and get it professionally restored, delivering it back on Xmas Day.
Note this may be NSFW as it contains grown men crying :D

What did you get Spokes? I gave up on motorcycles when I first discovered mountain bikes about 8 years ago but have recently inherited 2 motocrossers and 2 road bikes - first ride on the bigger of the road bikes (ZZR1100) and I suddenly rediscovered why I used to enjoy riding them.

Just an old 86 CBX250RS. Needs some work but its only done 13K. Was warranted untill last month and would probably get another now but I want to give it a good go over. but all original. And 2 sets of new Pirelli tyres. Will get me through my licence period.

Heading out today to get a helmet. Have a feeling i will spend as much on that as I did the bike.....

Down in my hidden suburban shed in Perth, I still have the following:
1) 1970 Enfield 500 Bullet (ex-India) roadie
2) 1990-ish TY250N trials bike
3) 1968 Kwakka B1L roadie

Last time I rode the poor beasties:
Exhibit 1) ~2009
Exhibit 2) ~1998
Exhibit 3) ~1991

They remain in the list of projects tentatively to be completed before 2083.
