Anybody recommend good insurance for bikes? My car and contents is with AA, but their bike policy doesn't seem too well...specific. It seems any bike 500-1000cc is the same premium, but you're limited to jap bikes - they won't insure triumphs, harleys, dukes, aprilia etc. Premium seems reasonable at $450 for 25 year old fully comp but anyone reckon I can get cheaper/more tailor made?
Cheers

There are some motorbike specific insurers like Protecta I found them to be higher than my State quote but I've heard you have much less hassle getting them to pay out and for a bit more they cover your riding gear.
There seem to be some others mentioned on kiwibiker.co.nz - could be worth a search over there

If you are still looking for recommendations for learner bikes I really liked my Yamaha Scorpio

:) Here is my friend's Honda CB550 that he's restored.
I did the tank and sidecovers for him (sandblast, paint, fit decals, clear etc).

Nice CB550,
funny did the same thing to a friends about 20 yrs ago, He bought an ex cop bike CB550F white in colour like a fridge :o
stripped it back, black and chrome with clipon bars and absolutly everything not required removed. It was a great bike he rode it for years got plenty of tickets on it too always caused a laugh when the cops realised what it was :)
