Micro Sd Cards And Phones.

Postby swtchbckr on Fri 4/Sep/15 5:24pm

Motorola E purchased back in May (cheap not bad phone), into which I put my 32GB micro SD with a bunch of music on it. Now phone has decided it doesn't like the SD card anymore, basically either not recognising it's there, or seeing it but thinking it's damaged and wanting to reformat it, which if I say yes to, doesn't happen and the phone just sees it as damaged, or doesn't see it... Any of you wise techos got any ideas? suspect the SD card is not fucked because it is still recognisable and all the music on it is still there when i plug it into the computer, in which case, could it be the phone's software? contacts??? anybody struck this? interwebs forums seem to just accept the loss of what was a perfectly good card.
I'm reluctant to go buy a new SD card cos what if it is the phone?

luckily i have all the music on the card somewhere else (and then some).

I've been messing around with an arduino SD datalogger and the recommendation is never let your gadget format it. Had to download a program on the Mac to do it.

I have had cards become corrupt and start scrambling photos. A new card fixed it. I didn't bother trying to fix the old card. It wasn't worth losing more photos.

I've had the same thing with a flash drive, you just can't trust them after that.

I had a multi card reader that seemed to be associatiated with a lot of corruption. Went to single card adapters and all was fine.

I have had a SD card get corrupted so it wasn't usable in a camera, but is fine in a PC. I think that happened when accidentally removing it from the camera while powered up. Someone said it might be an accidental feature of the copyright protection stuff, the S in SD.
